Bringing people to Christ by Caring and Serving

Valley Interfaith Council

The Valley Interfaith Council is an ecumenical organization representing nine churches—Catholic, Lutheran, United Church of Christ, and United Methodist—in Conyngham, Butler Township, and Sugarloaf Township.  The group supports a variety of interfaith and community projects including Church Women United, Red Cross blood drives, Meals on Wheels, Campus Ministry, and the 30-hour Famine.  The Prayer Network maintains an ever-changing list of persons in local communities needing prayer.

The Council’s signature program is the Valley Food Pantry, which currently supports more than fifty families in need of food assistance.  The Pantry receives support from member churches as well as a variety of organizations including schools, scout troops, other food banks, service groups, and supermarkets (principally Gould’s Shursave in Conyngham).
